Rick Kemp, best known as a bass player for various bands including Steeleye Span, has been working in the music industry for over 60 years (first gigs 1955) and decided to ‘go solo’ at 75 years young! He has created a new show where he plays his much-covered original songs and spins yarns from an inexhaustible library of experiences. This wealth of experience comes from doing just about every job the inductry has to offer, from the sublime to the ridiculous. He has had many encounters with fellow musicians (Bowie, Eurithmics, Peter Sellers, King Crimson, Beach Boys), produced and played on great records and appeared on TOTP dressed as a Womble! This new solo show often features a slide show which accompanies the wealth of stories and gives you an insight into Rick’s early life and times as well as the band’s history.
These shows are all unique, riveting, touching and very funny.
Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art over 25 year ago, Rick has always had a passion for creating visual art.  He currently has an exhibition of his work at The Dennis Kilgallon Gallery.
Rick is also currently playing bass in a new outfit called a BN&K along with Drummer Paul Burgess (10cc) and guitarist Ken Nicol (Steeleye Span, The Albion Band) playing original material.
